Citrus-era downtown, museums, food halls, baseball, hockey, concerts, and regional extensions

Things to do in Anaheim

Anaheim beyond the park gates includes oak-canyon trails in Anaheim Hills, nineteenth-century homes at Founders' Park, changing exhibitions at Muzeo, downtown food halls, and ticketed sports nights. Los Angeles tours remain regional extensions rather than Anaheim attractions.

Oak Canyon Nature Center

Four miles of trails cross oak woodland and coastal sage scrub in a 58-acre Anaheim Hills park. Give the canyon two or three hours, including the small interpretive center, and choose it for shade, birds, and a quieter morning rather than another ticketed attraction. It is well east of the resort, so pair it with an Anaheim Hills meal instead of downtown.

Founders' Park

The 1857 Mother Colony House, 1894 Woelke-Stoffel House, Moreton Bay fig, and recreated nineteenth-century landscape preserve a visible piece of Anaheim's vineyard and citrus history. The grounds are a compact stop; visit when the city's limited house-tour schedule is operating, or combine the exterior landscape with Muzeo rather than driving north for the park alone.

Muzeo and the Carnegie campus

Muzeo Museum and Cultural Center uses changing exhibitions to explore art and local history around Anaheim's former Carnegie Library. Allow one or two hours when the current exhibition appeals, then walk Center Street or continue to the Packing House. Because the exhibition calendar changes, choose Muzeo for the show on view rather than assuming a permanent Anaheim-history museum.

Packing District and Center Street

The restored Packing House, Farmers Park, nearby MAKE and Packard buildings, and Center Street make Anaheim's strongest non-park half-day. Begin with a food-hall lunch, continue through the neighboring historic buildings, and finish among Center Street's shops and civic blocks. Save the eastern stadium-and-arena corridor for a separately ticketed event.

Buy the event before crossing to the sports district

Angel Stadium, Honda Center, and the Anaheim Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC) sit east of the resort. A baseball game, hockey game, or concert can fill the evening. On a non-event day, choose the Packing District, Founders' Park, Muzeo, or Oak Canyon instead.

ARTIC is useful for regional rail, buses, and rideshare connections, but current event pedestrian routes and schedules should be checked rather than inferred from map distance.

One optional day outside Anaheim

One Los Angeles extension can replace an Anaheim day

The Los Angeles sightseeing tour supplies regional transport for Hollywood and coastal stops. The Universal Studios Hollywood VIP experience is a separate full park day with guided priority access. Either replaces an Anaheim park or downtown day; neither is an Anaheim attraction.

Skip-the-Line Front-of-Line Pass at Universal Studios Hollywood

A Universal Studios Hollywood option centered on expedited attraction access rather than a guided VIP day. Check the exact inclusions and departure point; the Los Angeles park requires its own full day from Anaheim.
