Anaheim itinerary scenes across the resort district, two park days, and downtown

4-day / 3-night itinerary

Four days in Anaheim: two parks and downtown

Arrive Thursday evening, give Friday to Disneyland Park, spend Saturday at Disney California Adventure, and visit downtown Anaheim before a Sunday departure.

By Cal Mercer — a Second Star Guide itinerary

Thursday arrival, two separate park days, and an optional Sunday downtown visit create four distinct parts of the trip.

Best length

4 days / 3 nights

Three nights hold two complete park days, one arrival evening, and a short downtown visit before departure.

Stay

Anaheim resort district

Choose a hotel with a verified pedestrian route to the park entrances if midday room breaks matter.

Park plan

One park each day

Friday belongs to Disneyland Park; Saturday begins at Disney California Adventure.

Sunday

Downtown if time allows

Use the Packing District and Center Street only when checkout and departure timing leave a comfortable window.

Palm-lined Anaheim resort district on arrival evening
Thursday evening is for the hotel, a nearby dinner, and a short look at the resort district.
A lively but unbranded Southern California theme-park morning
Friday starts at Disneyland Park before the posted opening time.
Restored citrus-era architecture and pedestrians in downtown Anaheim
Sunday morning can move north to the Packing District and Center Street before departure.

Arrival

Check in and learn the walk to the gates

Finish the airport or freeway transfer, confirm the exact pedestrian entrance from the hotel, and keep the evening near the resort district.

6:30 PM

Dinner

Eat near the hotel rather than crossing Anaheim.

Use a nearby resort-district table or Downtown Disney restaurant, then return early enough to prepare tickets, reservations, and the morning entrance plan.

Day 2

Disneyland Park from morning entry through one evening priority

Enter Disneyland Park with one classic-land cluster and one headline ride already chosen. Keep the first hours on one side of the park, then save a meal and one nighttime event for later.

6:45 AM

Breakfast

Eat before the walk to Disneyland Park.

Keep breakfast quick near the hotel so the first park hour belongs to attractions rather than a restaurant queue. Allow time for the pedestrian approach and security before the posted opening.

At posted opening

Disneyland Park

Start in Fantasyland or with one headline ride.

Families with young children can link Peter Pan's Flight, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and nearby Fantasyland rides before Mickey's Toontown. Thrill-focused groups can begin with Tiana's Bayou Adventure or a Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge priority, then stay in neighboring lands instead of crossing the park after every ride.

2:30 PM

Afternoon

Stop for lunch before deciding on a hotel break.

Plaza Inn can supply a substantial Main Street lunch before the afternoon decision. Return to the room only when the full pedestrian route is short; otherwise choose shade and indoor attractions inside Disneyland Park.

Evening

Finale

Choose the parade, fireworks, or a favorite ride after dark.

Confirm the day's entertainment schedule, then keep one evening finish. Trying to combine a full ride list, a parade, fireworks, and a long dinner makes the first park day needlessly brittle.

Bookable Experiences

Skip-the-Line Front-of-Line Pass at Universal Studios Hollywood

Day 3

Disney California Adventure for its own full day

Begin at Disney California Adventure with Cars Land or Pixar Pier as the first cluster. Save Avengers Campus and San Fransokyo Square for the middle of the day, subject to current construction routing.

6:45 AM

Breakfast

Eat lightly before Disney California Adventure.

A quick hotel-area breakfast preserves time for Cars Land or Pixar Pier. Save the day's longer meal for inside the park, where it can also cover the warmest afternoon hours.

At posted opening

Second park day

Begin with Radiator Springs Racers or a Pixar Pier cluster.

Cars Land gives Radiator Springs Racers the clearest early priority. A Pixar-focused group can instead begin around the pier, then continue toward San Fransokyo Square. Check the current route around Avengers Campus construction before linking those areas.

2:30 PM

Afternoon

Make the California Adventure afternoon about food and shade.

Lamplight Lounge is the deliberate waterfront meal when reservations fit; counter-service choices around San Fransokyo Square keep the stop shorter. Add indoor attractions or shaded seating before returning to the busiest rides later.

Evening

Park close or event

Return to Cars Land or Pixar Pier after dark.

Finish the second park day in the cluster the group most wants to see illuminated. A baseball game, hockey game, or concert should replace this park evening entirely because it requires a separate transfer and arrival window.

Bookable Experiences

Anaheim to LA: Hollywood, Beaches & Famous Film Sites tour

Departure

Packing District, Center Street, then departure

Check out or secure luggage before leaving the resort district. Use downtown Anaheim only when the airport or freeway window remains comfortable.

9:00 AM

Breakfast

Check the current Packing House opening time before driving north.

If the food hall is not open or the departure is early, eat near the hotel instead of forcing a downtown detour.

10:00 AM

Downtown walk

Walk Center Street and choose one current cultural stop.

Muzeo and Founders' Park have their own hours and access conditions. Confirm the current option before choosing it; otherwise keep the visit to Center Street and the Packing District exterior.

Departure

Airport or freeway

Leave downtown with the full transfer window intact.

Use current traffic, rail, airport, and parking information for the exact departure rather than adding another stop.
